Wetherells Department Store, on the junction of “The Crescent” and “James Street” in Selby, was awarded a “Good Design” plaque in 1995 for its shopfront. Tastefully painted and festooned with flagpoles and flower baskets, the design was judged to enhance the style of “The Crescent” and be complementary to its location close to Selby Abbey.
