Our Speaker will be David Lewis, local historian and author.
David will be expanding on events which came to be known as The Battle of Selby. The clash in Selby in April 1644 during the English Civil War is often overlooked in descriptions of the subsequent Siege of York and Battle of Marston Moor.
But had it not been for events at Selby, those two more famous conflicts may well not have occurred.
